We have many volunteer opportunities that you may be interested in:
- Deliver noon lunches on Monday and Friday. Hours are 8:30 to 10:30. Meet at 428 Southland Drive to be given the food and the route for the day. Select one day a month, or one day a week, or (if you enjoy driving) even more days. It all depends on you.
- Initiate Phone calls for socialization or a wellness check (Usually, one volunteer per one participant, so you can build a relationship). Calls usually last about 5-15 minutes and are made at least twice a week. However, the frequency may be less, at your partner's request. If a welfare check, you may call more frequently, but time spent on phone may be shortened.
- Attend a Virtual Welcome Center, will hold structured discussion on a Zoom Video Conference with several other volunteers and participants. One hour a month requested.
- Attend virtual exercise or mindfulness classes. Classes are held semi-weekly. Request participation at least once per month from 20 to 30 minutes. These classes help in decreasing stressors we all have, and encourage healthy living for our participants by being role models.
- Read to a 3rd grader virtually. Book to read, name of school, and assignment of child will all be done by the Director and you will receive notification prior to your reading assignment. Generally readers are needed for three six-week sessions during the school year.
- We are not a transportation service, but can provide resources of agencies who are able to perform this function. There is usually a small payment by the participant or these services.
